From LIZ SMITH
NEW YORK POST (March 2nd)
IT'S IRRESISTIBLE when a famous guy calls up to tout something his lady love is doing. As when the great Len Cariou, the original Demon Barber of Fleet Street and "Sweeney Todd" on B'way, rang me to ask me to take a look at his wife's new book.
Heather Summerhayes Cariou has written a beautiful memoir about her sister, Pam, who struggled with cystic fibrosis. At 6, young Heather called this devastating disease "Sixtyfive Roses." And that's the title of her book. This is a wonderful work of sibling love and loss. And I like Heather's "press agent" almost as much as she does.
Len will be seen as FDR this summer when HBO shows us "Churchill at War."
