High River Kinsmen CF Gala
The High River Kinsmen Club held their 7th annual dinner, dance, and silent auction for CF this past Saturday. (Mar. 29th) Attached is a link to the local newspaper article. The article's title is somewhat decieving. We grossed over $30,000., and our net profit is somewhere slightly over $20,000. In the next couple of weeks we will have our final figures compiled. We were sold out with 300 guest in attendance. The night included a full course dinner, a dance to a live band, numerous raffle items, a silent auction of over 60 donated items, and guest speakers. Heaher Summerhayes Cariou spoke from the heart, read exerts from her book, and kept the audience's attention focused on life with CF. Also, a local book retailer (Highwood Books) was on hand to sell copies of Cariou's book, Sixtyfive Roses ~ A Sister's Memoir. Cariou signed over 50 copies during the evening.
